Served with a dollop of fresh whipped cream these make an elegant desert. Once cooked each boat can be sliced into thirds and they make a delicious finger food for kids. These could even be a hit at breakfast, just cut the brown sugar in half to reduce the sweetness and let the apple flavor shine through.

Six apples(Emily likes Macintosh).
crisp topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup flour
4 tbsp butter, softened, cut into bits
Cut apples in half and scoop out the core/seeds so that they are half hollow, do not peel. Make the apple crisp topping from the ingredients listed;mix together crisp topping ingredients with fingertips until well blended, scoop it into the apples and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve warm
