Nature’s snacking fruit, I think they are great and so convenient. They are easy to peel and are usually eaten raw. Canned no-added-sugar versions go by the name Mandarin Oranges and are also a convenient alternative. Look for fruit that feels firm and has a bright yellow-orange color. They can ripen at room temperature for two to three days before eating; then refrigerate.
Clementines are usually eaten raw, added to fruit salad and even make a nice addition to a vegetable salad.
